Reconciliation

27 May 2020

Adelaide Brighton has taken an important step towards a reconciled Australia, with the release of our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.

Since our inception in 1882 when William Lewis, a Welsh immigrant, officially opened the Brighton Cement Works, Adelaide Brighton has invested in Australian communities; creating strong futures for our employees while helping cities and towns prosper.

Like our founder and the communities in which we operate, our employees come from many different backgrounds and cultures. This is key to our continued growth as we foster a culture where we embrace difference.

Morgan Cement International Pty Ltd statement on COVID-19

7 April 2020

Morgan Cement International (MCI) continues to monitor COVID-19 updates and is making operational decisions as the situation evolves.

At this stage MCI’s operations will remain open as we provide materials essential to the continued operations of the construction and resources industries.

Our key operational personnel are continuing to work, so long as they are not in a high-risk category for their own personal health or that they have potentially been exposed to the virus. Non-operational staff are continuing to work from home.

The health and safety of our staff, contractors and the public remains our number one priority. All decisions are being made to keep our team and the community safe, in line with general guidelines and directives from the Government and Health Department.

We encourage local residents to use the community hotline or website to raise any concerns they may have. Please do not visit site, the Port Kembla site is now a restricted access site and unauthorised visitors will not be permitted to enter the premises.

As a proud Australian-owned company employing approximately 1,500 people nationally, we are committed to continuing our operations in the interests of our staff and our customers, particularly those in the construction and mining industries. We are all focused on maintaining operations for the benefit of the local, state and national economy.

These are uncertain and challenging times for us all, we wish you and your families well and hope you all stay well.
